No doubt you have been following some of the information since Hurricane Helene headed toward the Gulf; however, none of us could have imagined the disastrous destruction, deaths and infrastructure obliteration that Helene would leave behind.  While we have been praying, making connections and gathering information to help, we have watched with prideful amazement as Americans have linked arms, steadied our frames, dug deep into our pockets, recognized the needs of others as greater than our own and responded. 

 

As you can imagine the logistics of sending a medical relief team and supplies to a disaster zone is complicated and fluid.  Although we certainly don’t have all the answers or information to share, I can now tell you that a ten-member team will depart southwest Michigan Monday evening and heading into hot spots where needed early Tuesday.  The team will each return “home” after serving for 9 days.
